Practicing mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, improve attention, and increase one's ability to regulate emotions, show empathy, and feel compassion. One of the many ways to practice mindfulness with your children is to practice gratitude and express and acknowledge emotions. These journals will help you do just that!
"This journal is preventative medicine in our constantly busy and overwhelming days. It was created at the perfect time and includes a well-designed and simple to use checklist for the parts of self-care I often don't like to think of as self-care even though they really are!
This journal is essential for putting the power of your brain to paper on your most important priorities. Something like self-care can feel very "fluffy" but this journal cuts through that and reminds me that every little thing counts.
I only wish I had this journal sooner but am so happy it is becoming an integral part of my morning routine."
Plan Like a Mom
"This journal is exactly what I’ve been looking for! As a busy, working mother of 3, I rarely take the time to practice self care or to sit for a few minutes and realize how grateful I am for this life, and for my family. The structure of this journal is great for overcoming those obstacles. Most of all it will give me a few minutes everyday to make a plan, breathe deep, and rebuild the confidence that I used to have. Stacey is an excellent motivator and I’m in love with this journal."
"I am a busy mom with two small children. As life gets crazy, I often find that I don't have any time for myself. This journal has been great to help me take a minute to collect my thoughts and remind me to sit and reflect on life. It's a great size and easy to work with. The beginning was very helpful to get me started and guide me in my contemplation. Thanks for this well thought out journal!"
How will I find the time?
The same way you find time to do anything else worthwhile. You’ll prioritize it! A morning routine is a great way to ensure you fit your self-care in before your day starts. It’s also an excellent way to start your day with intention! If the idea of waking up earlier is daunting, don’t worry - it was for me too! But once I got into the routine I began enjoying that quiet time before the hustle and bustle of the busy day. When I wake up early I have more energy and patience to tackle my day. Now I look forward to getting up each day!
My dreams are silly - I’ll never be able to reach them
I’ve had those thoughts too! This is not always easy! But it is so worth it! Incorporating daily affirmations, setting goals, and visualizing your dreams every day will produce results and it does not have to take a lot of time. Devote 30 minutes per day to your self-care and you will see big changes over time. It’s a slow process that comes with a lot of ups and downs along the way.
Modeling positive self-care habits for your children and encouraging them to have similar habits will help build confidence and appreciation for the world around them.
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them,” - John F. Kennedy
